The nurses office had been a quick visit, she’d been prescribed sleeping pills – after coming clean about her nightmares and was given a general check-up – nothing came from it however, and while her fatigue was evident there was nothing physically wrong with her. She’d spent the rest of the night tucked up in bed after a hot shower watching Roman Holiday (thank god for Audrey Hepburn) and eating the equivalent of her own body weight in chocolate. Of course her thoughts had initially dwelled on the disaster of an afternoon – she needed to speak to somebody about her powers they – it was getting out hand.
Though she was glad to have met Zyro, she wouldn’t have made it back by nightfall if he hadn’t helped her. Not to mention he’d been sweet and had an excellent taste in video games. It was safe to say she was looking forward to this date and although he’d practically found her half unconscious in a graveyard she couldn’t help but feel nervous. Brushing a comb through her unruly hair she sighed at her reflection – of course today would be the day her hair decided to rebel, pulling a face she groaned and settled for pulling it into a long loose braid.
“Okay,” she said to her reflection “okay, it’s just a date, you’ve already spent time with him, so we’re not gonna screw this up.” She narrowed her eyes at her own reflection and pulled a toothy goofy face.
Grabbing the bag of cookies from her bedside table she popped on her cardigan and left her dorm room. The hallways we’re surprisingly busy and as she meandered her way through the crowd pushing gently past the crowds that had stopped to chatter she finally made it to the lobby.
Sitting down on one of the few chairs that were dotted about she waited for Zyro ignoring the nervous butterflies in her stomach.
