JJ really isn't used to rules. Her parents never really gave her any. So she follows her gut and does what she wants, because that makes her happy, and honestly the most important thing to her is her own happiness. After all, she will live forever, and what is forever for except doing exactly what you want, when you want to? However, she does understand the necessity of rules and standards in certain situations, like school. Especially the school she works at, where there are so many deadly abilities in the hands of teenagers. Still, she doesn't really enforce the rules too much, unless something is blatantly dangerous. JJ prefers to guide her students and give them advice, but she takes the same approach her parents did. She presents it as simply advice, and the student can take it or leave it.
JJ is also a very spiritual person. No, she does not believe in God or a higher entity, but she does believe in the energy of the world and nature, as well as karma. While this is a somewhat odd belief for a vampire, she's felt a connection with the Earth since she was very little, and becoming a blood sucking immortal didn't change that. She is a generally calm person, but she does have her daring side, and loves to get herself into dangerous situations where her adrenaline is running high. In fact, she's a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

Looks/Physical Description:
JJ is quite skinny, with an average height of a little under 5'6". Her hair is naturally blonde, and is very straight and soft to the touch. It is also quite long. Naturally her skin is smooth and tanned, but since she was turned it has paled considerably, and she cannot tan. Her skin looks even paler contrasted against the heavy eye makeup she applies, which accents her pale blue eyes. She dresses in dark clothes and accessorizes with a lot of jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, and rings. When she goes out dancing, she has been known to wear very risque outfits that show off quite a bit of her ample cleavage.
Backstory:
JJ was born to a very wealthy family. Her father was an environmental lawyer with some very prestigious and well paying clients, and though her mother didn't work, she chose to work with charities helping children in third world countries. From a very young age her parents encouraged her to express herself, however that might be. She took art classes and dance classes, and when neither were her thing, her parents encouraged her to find something new. Even when Jocelyn didn't like her name, they came up with something that fit her better, JJ. They imposed very few rules on their daughter, preferring instead simply teaching her what they could and then letting her choose her own path.
While JJ was a wee toddler, her mother stayed home to watch her while her father traveled quite a bit for work. When she was about five, they hired a nanny so that her mother could go back to work full time. She, too, began traveling, leaving JJ with her nanny for long stretches of time. As she grew older and matured, JJ found that she really didn't mind. She was happy that her parents were able to fulfill their own dreams, and she greatly enjoyed her almost complete freedom and autonomy. As long as she maintained good grades, her parents were proud of her in whatever choices she made. When she started high school, her nanny was let go and she would have the house entirely to herself when both her parents were gone.
It turned out that expressing herself came in the form of heavy eye makeup, dark clothes, and a lot of jewelry. At school she followed the dress code, but on the weekends she'd party with her friends in skimpy clothes that made all the boys want to dance with her. Except, JJ found she just wasn't interested in boys. Nothing about them appealed to her. It wasn't until she was a junior that she found someone sexually attractive, a girl a grade below her that was absolutely adorable. They had a short fling, but neither of them was interested in anything more, and JJ began sleeping around with any hot girl who was willing.
After graduation, JJ moved to New York to attend Columbia, pursuing a degree in psychology. Shortly into her college life, JJ was at a club with some friends where a handsome young man tried very hard to hit on her. She refused his advanced many times, and when he wouldn't stop, she left the club. He followed her and started getting violent, forcing her into a dark alley behind the club. She tried to scream for help, but when his fangs came out she found herself completely frozen. A vampire, a real live vampire and she was going to be his dinner. He went for her throat, and then he was suddenly gone, flying through the air until he smashed into the far wall of the alley. A woman now stood in front of her, a beautiful, pale woman who was grinning at her, and she, too, had fangs. She apologized for the man's behavior, introduced herself as Christia, and politely asked JJ to follow her back into the club. Despite her better judgement, JJ simply nodded. She wanted to do whatever this woman asked, and she couldn't explain why. To her surprise, they entered through a back entrance and Christia led her to a large, well decorated office. After explaining that the man was newly turned, and having a hard time controlling his impulses, the two got to chatting, and before she knew it Christia was asking her out.
The two began dating fairly seriously. JJ couldn't believe that Christia, such a beautiful, cultured woman, was interested in her. She was old, too, a very old vampire from France. JJ was infatuated with her. Her first serious relationship, and it was with a vampire, but she really, truly loved her. They spent quite a bit of time together, and around other vampires, and JJ learned quite a lot about a supernatural world that she hadn't known existed. When she was twenty-two, the night after her college graduation, she asked Christia to turn her, and the vampire obliged. They stayed together almost another ten years. They traveled and saw the world, but one day Christia received a letter in the mail. It was from a man named Vittorio, Christia's sire, and someone whom she feared greatly. She told JJ that she had to go into hiding, and she couldn't not go with her, for she wouldn't put JJ's life at risk.
They went their separate ways, and from the supernatural community she heard of a school in Virginia. She applied to work as a counselor, and when she got the job she moved to the school, and has been there for the past two years.
Abilities:
- Enhanced Condition: JJ is fast, very, very fast, and she's also inhumanely strong. All of her senses are enhanced, as well, including the ability to see very long distances, hear the tiniest sound, and smell things a normal human nose can't. Vampires are predators, and she has everything she needs to hunt her prey, humans.
- Mind Manipulation: This only works if someone looks her in the eyes, without eye connection she has no power over you. Once she's caught you in her magic, though, breaking eye contact doesn't always stop her influence, and with that connection, she can cloud your brain and your judgement, and she can persuade you to believe or do just about anything.
- Blood Sucker: She drinks blood, yo.
