With her books held tightly to her chest and her hair in its usual loose braid Rosalie smiled to herself as she entered the history classroom; a decent night’s sleep had worked perfectly and the dark bags under her eyes had reduced significantly – go her. Her dream itself had been dreamless nothing beautiful white static but Rosalie found it a blessing considering her usual slumber was plagued with vicious nightmares of horrible ghosts and a cacophony of their dreadful cries.

Following the flock of students into the classroom she picked her seat – a desk by the window that overlooked the grounds, the perfect place to daydream out of in the midst of boring lecture. At least this lesson would be sort of fun, the Greeks were kind of cool, she loved the mythology and she’d spent most of last night reading up on Persephone and Hecate – her decided favourites. She’d also came to energy drink fuelled conclusion – after bouncing the idea with her roommate- that Aphrodite was a clear feminist icon and should be appreciated more instead of the blatant slut shaming she was usually described with. After all being forced to marry someone against your will sounded because you were hot – well that sounded awful no wonder the poor Goddess had so many affairs.

Taking the window seat she settled down and waited for the class to begin. Zoning in and out as the teacher mentioned something about pre assigned partners. Well there went the freedom of choice. As the teacher read the names she searched for her partner – Xavier Kingdon. That was a new name, even amongst the newbies like herself – blinking softly her curious gaze landed on a tall boy who she offered a friendly smile to.

Xavier hated the school already mostly for the fact it was a school. He hadn't seen a school in two years and didn't have higher than a D in more. When he still cared about school was when he was eight, since then teachers have just passed him off to the next person to deal with instead of doing anything. Although Xavier mistrusted anything about schools at least the class he was in wasn't something he wasn't entirely behind in.

He walked into the the classroom with only a pencil in his hands and a bit of bandages peaking out at the top of shirt. he sat in the back of the room already trying to ignore everyone and instead tapped his pencil on the desk. His eyes wandered the room aimlessly trying his best not to look anywhere near the teacher. He didn't get much sleep do to the large burn that was bandaged across his shoulder. Finding a position that didn't hurt proved harder then he thought.

He barely heard that they were assigned partners from being so focused on not the room instead of the teacher. Turning around he finally looked at the teacher. This wasn't what he remembered about school. His plan to remain out of peoples way was now ruined. He finally looked around to find his partner and found a girl smiling at him. He sighed and got up. A Quick hiss escaped his lips when his shoulder moved but he ignored his pain and walked over to her. The pain had gone away some but moving still hurt a little.

"Hey," he said a little nervous, "Do you know anything about this class?" He got straight to the point but tried to not outright say he knew next to nothing. Of course he knew the basic three gods: Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon; but anything further and his mind basically went blank. He threaded his hand through his curly hair and tried to think of anything more to say but his usual sarcasm failed him.

"Hi, I'm rose, nice to meet you." she said friendlily, as the boy settled down in the seat next to her. She listened to this question and nodded.
“Oh don't worry, it's just your basic history class,” said Rose taking out her blue notebook, “though we kind of focus on the supernatural elements hidden in history as well as the mythology – since most of us have links to it, I guess it helps us understand each other.” She said her voice trailing off slightly “or something like that,” she chuckled.
She wrinkled her brow, “And with that in mind, if we ever get to it, I’m so not looking forward to British mythology.”. There’d be too many awkward questions. Banshee’s had a mythology that stemmed ages into the depths British history – specifically Irish, the last thing she needed was someone telling her how she worked.

“So I haven’t seen you before,” said Rose curiously, as the teacher began to hand out sheets of paper – she was sure if she had she’d have remembered him, he was tall enough to remember, and his name, she only supposed it was him because she knew everybody else (by name at least) in her class.
“New right, I’ve been here a few weeks myself, honestly it drove me crazy at first.” She said shaking her head, the loose smile still in place. The teacher approached their desk and carelessly placed the information sheets onto table, plucking it up she gazed across it for a moment.

“At least the Greeks are sort of interesting,” said Rose as the teacher returned to the front of the class, “Though I think Zeus is actually mental.” Said Rose as she remembered reading up on his antics – when she’d studied Yeats in her human school, apparently nineteenth century poets took a lot of muse from god rape, Charming.

The teacher cleared their throat and drew the classes attention.
"Right class, today we're discussing the offspring of Gods and Humans, I want you to list every Demi god and their respected gifts and abilities - link it back to their parents and discuss."

Shit, well that was something she hadn't read about of course the teacher would pick something she was clueless with, all she could think of was that bloody disney film. Who put the glad in gladiato- and now that song was stuck in her head.

"Is it bad all I can think about is Hercules, the disney film?" said Rose apologetically hoping that Xavier had ideas.

"Xavier, likewise." he replied already trying to find a way out of the class. " How long does this class exactly?"

"Right basic history," he said sarcastically while rolling his eyes. "How much supernaturl stuff is in Mythology?"He asked the question only because he was measuring how many things he had to know about the class.

"I guess learning this stuff isn't that bad but I don't thnk that there is any supernatural myth about a human. " He looked back at her confused." Awkward questions? what sort of awkard questions? Everyone here talks in circles." He leaned back in his chair stretching his arms out behind him. Sitting down in a classroom felt a little wierd and his eyes kept wandering around the room looking at everything as if it was a foriegn concept.

"Yeah I'm new but how did you know and anyone is there any way I can hide that from anyone else?" he leaned on closer and talked quietly " Im not suppossed to be here but they won't let me leave." He shrugged and went back to sitting normally." I'll find a way out sooner or later."

He laughed at her next comment."This whole place is crazy. You relize everyone here aren't suppossed to exist. This all is just stupid" It took a few seconds but his eyes widened, " oh shoot I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that, I mean I did , but ... sorry."He stumbled across his words relizing he had just told her she shouldn't exsist and trying to explain it but failing miserably.

A hint of a smile flashed on his face as she talked about Zues. He finally knew something but it dropped when she said he was mental." I never thought he was mental. Why is he mental?" He asked confused," What did he do?"

Looking back at the teacher again he groaned. Everytime the teacher talked he got more work that he didn't understand. At least he had a partner to help him. " Wait, Hercules is demigod ?" he starts laughing" We are so screwed. Sorry but I now nothing on this."

“About an hour, why ready to leave already?” she asked as she watched Xavier glance around the room as if he was searching for any sort of exit. It seemed that Xavier either really hated history or he had something better to do.
“well y’know not everyone wants to talk about their abilities and people are nosy,” she sighed
“Quite a bit when you consider all the legends,” she shrugged, “There’s a few tales about people on quests I guess but I guess most of them are either gods or god kids.” She Rose with a frown, as thought about the many myths and legends, “There was Achilles,” she shrugged, “and he was a human.” Though he was a complete jerk if the stories were anything to go by.
“Are you human Xavier?” she asked finally putting two and two together, she kept her tone hushed the last thing Xavier needed was that information broadcasted, it was dangerous for a human to be here.

“well I haven’t seen you before, and everyone else I sort of know now,” Said Rose simply, “I’m much more perceptive than I look Xavier,” she joked raising an eyebrow cheekily, “and I guess just don’t draw much attention to yourself?” she said not really sure how he could exactly go unnoticed, the poor guy was incredibly tall after all hard to miss and people were always curious when it came to new faces.
She raised a curious eyebrow “Wait, what?” she asked furrowing her brow “why not?” it didn’t make any sense, surely the school wasn’t hell bent on keeping people here, especially if they were human… She rolled her eyes at the ignorance of his comment but she did understand, her human friends - well the ones she’d trusted with her secret had found it hard to believe her, even with proof many scoffed and tried to rationalize it. Xavier as well looked completely out of his comfort zone, he radiated distress and Rose gave him a sympathetic look.

“Don’t worry about it, things take a bit of getting used to around here.” Said Rose “anyway, if I didn’t really exist you’ve got very good taste in imaginary friends.” She laughed.
The topic returned to Greek myths and Rose nodded enthusiastically, “Dude he changed into a swan so he could get a woman pregnant, that’s kind of crazy,” said Rose grimacing as she remembered the story. “Hercules was the son of Zeus and…” she tried to remember the name, “damn my minds gone blank.” She tapped her finger against her chin, “her names gone, not the swan attack lady though, someone else.” She shrugged. “Perseus was a demi god though but for the life of me I can’t even remember what he did,” she turned to her book and started rifling through the pages, haphazardly still sleepy and hazy from the early rise that morning.

" I.. uh.. sorry. It's not your fault or anything I promise. Don't you think that an hour is a little long?' he groaned and leaned back into his seat. " Why can't school not exist" he complained, " to tell you the truth, I haven't even seen a school, much less be in one, in a couple of years."

" I know the feeling. Everyone wanting to know your past and know who you are. " he watched her finally feeling like he maybe wasn't the only one.

" Alright maybe I was wrong. What did Achilles do?. Anything remotely good?" he couldn't have done anything that great otherwise he would at least heard something, right?. He looks over himself jokingly," yep I'm a full fledged human. Why? Is that a bad thing?" said Xavier confused. Why would she think I am anything else? Everyone seemed convinced that he was something else. There was nothing else he could be. Both his parents where human, but there was no way he could ask them it was true either.

" So then I guess I have already failed at not being noticed then?" It was true he was tall but also stood out for other reasons that weren't apparent at first glance. One, he hadn't go to school in a few years so he was way behind. Two, he had lost all of his family either by death or never being able to see them again. If you looked closer at his appearance you could also see something else. He looks like he fished his clothes out of the trash. The souls of his shoes were falling off, his pants were ripped in several places, and his shirt said it was made in 1979.

His eyes shied away from her not wanting to tell the truth but instead gave a partial one, " I guess I'm someone dangerous to society or something like that." He quickly dropped the subject and changed to the next laughing at her comment. " nope I'm not that creative either, never would I be able to create a person like you in my head." he laughed again feeling a bit better. " I haven't met many people yet so getting used to things isn't going to happen anytime soon."

His eyes widened." Wait so Zeus is a player. Oh thats funny right there. " He stopped himself continuing," so does that book rith there, have all the answers cause I didn't even know of Perseus."
