"Wayward winds, the voice that sings of a forgotten land
See it fall, child of wolf
Lend a mending hand"
See it fall, child of wolf
Lend a mending hand"
Name: Sithara Chande
Time at Xorinthia: She's worked here for three years now.
Gender: Female
Species: Werewolf
Age: 26
Position: Staff - librarian
Personality:
She tends to radiate authenticity, concern and altruism, more than unafraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself Sita will speak when she believes something needs to be said. Incredibly tolerant of others despite their attitude towards her, Sita generally finds it easy to communicate well with other people and thanks to her sense of intuition she’s able to read people quite well analysing the feelings with her natural sense of compassion and kindness. Her interest in other people is incredibly genuine almost to a fault she’s a helper and enjoys fixing the problems of other people becoming involved enough to have her own trust abused.
Sita likes to assume the appearance of a sensible person however she’s simply repressing a rebellious streak, she’s well humoured and very witty and defiantly not afraid of hard work though she hates planning her days out in advance making her incredibly unorganized and just a little bit clutsy. Generally rational she sees the world with a scientific mind and enjoys studying new and exciting concepts. There’s a part of her, a very feral and deep part of her which she keeps locked inside that wishes for some form of retribution. She’s still learning to control that hatred trying her hardest to take her father’s advice and to grow from her past. Of course her patience is usually tested when she hears reports of hunters and their wrong doings – and sometimes it takes a lot of meditating and teary phone calls to her nearest and dearest to stop her doing something completely stupid.
She’s rather fierce when she has something to protect, very maternal she enjoys taking care of people but god held anyone who dare hurt any of her charges. She’s trained in a form of Indian martial arts (she can wield a pretty nifty staff) and she isn’t afraid to use it if the situation calls for it.
That being said due to her father’s wisdom she’s more of a scholar than a fighter always searching for a logical way out of things, violence is her last cause of action.
She’s rather vulnerable though she’d never admit it, as she tends to hide a lot of her own negative feelings bottling them up so as she doesn’t hurt others. She dislikes appearing as a victim and mostly tries to keep her emotions in check – which is generally quite tricky thanks to her sensitive nature. She has a fluctuating self - esteem mostly thanks to her horrible past and she finds it hard to make tough decisions tending to over analyse the situation and taking to long in weighing up the pros and cons. She also hates getting involved in conflict – she may come across as bossy and sometimes she can take criticism far to personally. She also gets stressed rather easily and finds it hard to understand people that shirk of responsibility.
Likes:
Warm tea, trashy tv shows, books, science, animals, things kept neat and tidy!
Dislikes:
mess, bad smells, stress, spiders, hunters, arrogant men, snotty women.
Looks/Physical Description:
Standing at an average 5’6 Sithara holds herself with a composed sense of grace and poise. She’s rather nimble on her feet and her many years of martial training and dance lessons have made her quite graceful. Dark tumbling locks of dark – almost black – hair fall across her shoulders reaching the middle of her back; usually she keeps her hair in a loose braid while she’s working only letting it down for special occasions. Her bronze skin lays the base for two large coffee coloured eyes framed by a set of long thick eyelashes. Her nose is pointed but turns up at the end while her lips pink, full and plump finish her facial features.
On an average working day she usually dresses in comfortable smart casual office clothes, usually made up of a grey skirt and a dark purple top with a matching cardigan. Out of work she’s usually found in a pair of comfy skinny jeans and a brightly coloured top or if she’s feeling particularly fancy a pretty sari, representative of her culture.
Backstory:
Sithara was born in a wealthy upper class area of southern Mumbai. Her mother Natalia a Romanian werewolf fell in love with Sithara’s father a Harinder Chaunde Indian werewolf when they met during their studies. Of course they fell in love and broke away from their respected packs (with their alpha’s permission of course) and moved to India, where Natalia bore Harinder a beautiful daughter who they named her Sithara. They were a happy family, and brought their daughter up in a safe loving environment, Natalia was a writer while Harinder – a professor taught Biology at the local university. Growing up in the richer area of Mumbai meant Sithara was privy to many things – dance classes – tutors for classes her school didn’t teach and most importantly the safety of knowing their would never be a chance of poverty in her life.
Of course everything changed during Sita's seventh year. Her mother had been called to a pack reunion so the family packed up their bags and made the trip to romania. Sita and her father couldn't attend the meeting due to an illness she'd contracted and her father stayed home to take care of her.
However tragadey struck and the reunion attacked by hunters, there were only a few survivors and her mother was not one of them. It had been a complete masacre and their pack was ruined - the hunters that destroyed it vanished into the night hoping to track down any remaining members of the pack. Sithara took the news terribly, she was young and didn't know how to handle her emotions. Problems with her wolf form occured and began shifting into her wolf form without realizing and without any control.
After the death of her mother Harinder whisked Sita away back to India, he didn’t want his daughter to suffer the same fate as his wife’s clan and pack. The hunters we’re still searching for the remaining members of the pack and with the family blood running through Sita’s veins it made her a clear target, after all the hunters feared retribution and couldn’t afford for the pack to reunite any way shape or form. Once they were safe Harinder began to teach his daughter meditation in hopes of her finding some sort of anchor to which she could control her wolf form.
Moving back to India Harinder gave up his professorship and whisked he and his daughter to south west Indian province Karnataka where he took a small town teaching position in a tiny hillside town the pay was substantially less but they we’re safe – no one knew them and there was almost no way of detecting them. A club in the town practised the Indian martial art of Kolu Varase otherwise known as staff fighting – deciding that his young daughter should learn how to protect herself – and not completely rely on the wolf Harinder decided it would be wise for her to begin some sort of training. The next week she enrolled in a class and began a gruelling practise
As well as martial arts Sita was enrolled in the local school and began her education which she quickly excelled in. She’d always been a bright child but her thirst for knowledge was almost unmatchable, her father terribly proud and when she skipped a grade Sita was bought a bicycle.
Deciding she was mature enough to understand Sita’s father took it upon himself to teach Sita about her pack and her heritage and the entirety of their demise. He taught her not to seek revenge but to protect what she had left. Though she was only fourteen years old she decided that one day she’d find the rest of the pack and help reunite what remained.
Things didn’t stay happy for long, shortly after Sita’s sixteenth birthday, on a stormy night her father arrived home worried and incredibly shaken he told her to pack her bags immediately that they had to run. They we’re interrupted however when a flaming arrow hit their tiny apartment sending it ablaze. They managed to escape but with great cost, Harinder lost his sight in the fire and Sita had never felt more helpless. She blamed herself for her father’s disability it was her belief that she too weak she should have been able to protect him, after all that’s what she’d been training to do. Her father reassured her that it wasn't her fault, and told her not to seek revenge but to take their new change of life as a blessing.
The two moved to England and survived off of her father’s disability allowance and the money Sita at a Saturday job at a local supermarket. She was worlds away from her childhood home and things we’re hard but she persevered and finally graduated school with high enough marks to get into a decent university. Her schooling finished and after she received a degree in biochemistry she was completely stumped on what to do with her life. Feeling lost she took a year out and travelled the world for a bit, she wanted to find what remained of her pack but her searches proved useless. If they were around they were very well hidden.
Travelling to America – keeping an eye out for danger and constantly writing to her father Sithara enjoyed her life on the road – until she saw an advertisement for a librarian’s position at a very special school for super naturals like herself. Wishing she’d had the option to attend in her youth the twenty three year old decided to go for it, she applied for the position and began work the very next week…
It’s been three years since then. Now twenty six she’s saving up to go on her first scientific study trip it's her dream to make some sort of ground breaking discovery but a part of her longs for the pack she never knew and wishes to find what remains in hope of rebuilding it.
Abilities: Beta werewolf.
- She has the ability to transform into a wolf with chestnut coloured fur - her wolf is quite small in stature though she's incredibly agile on her paws and rather nimble.
- accelerated/regenerative healing - she has the ability to heal quicker than the average human. However it all depends on the serverity of the wound and the type of weapon she was attacked with. Silver causes lasting damage and can lead to death - while plants like wolfsbane and mistletoe are incredibly poisonous and are fatal if not treated immediatley.
Regenerative healing on the other hand takes it's toll on the her both physically and mentally - the bigger the wound or limb the harder it is to regenerate it and for the bigger bodily organs or limbs it can take up 24 hours to 3 days to completely recover. When she regenerates she's in a great ammount of pain and must concentrate on the specific part of her body she's regenerating.
- Werewolf strength - in werewolf perspective she's not incredibly strong however compared to humans and weaker supernatural creatures she's incredibly strong.
- She's well trained in the Indian martial art of Kolu Varase - Indian staff fighting due to her nimble frame and childhood dance classes she excelled in the sport. Though she's rather rusty as she never had the chance to finish her training and because she's never had to use it before. She does however carry a long retractable staff with her everywhere in case she runs into trouble - or hunters.
